Romance with Nature

Beautiful Lizard-whole body

Look at this amazing creature I encountered last Wednesday morning on some old wood.

Look at his eye contact!

When I saw him I scurried inside to grab my iPad, hoping he’d still be there when I returned.

Not only was he still there, but he didn’t move a muscle as I took pictures at a distance, and crept ever closer. I finally got down on his level, inches away, and communed with him for half-an-hour.

But, eventually, I had to get on with my day – Gary-the-Tractor-Repair-Man was soon returning my tractor, and I had things I must do.

I hope, as I share this creature’s intelligent, amazing being, that you share with me, too, the wonder of all living creatures. Though they may be different from ourselves, they are still thinking and feeling – deserving of enjoying their life to the fullest, whatever that expression of existence may be!

The Greatest Gift

The Greatest Gift-poem: Gorgeous reflection of orange tree in water with the sun setting

Dear enchanting Home
Of my diaphanous Heart
May you thrive in Love
As Love is Life’s greatest Art

May this day be one
Of delicate reflection
As we take a brief hiatus
And contemplate our direction

May we consider
Our amazing destiny
While we pause and give thanks
For every bird for every tree

For each tiny grain
Of the ocean’s far-reaching sand
For every intricate insect
In its niche in every land

May we each heed the call
To awaken from our sleep
To return to balance our Home
We’ve been entrusted to keep

For a gift is a kindness
Even if the Giver is unseen
And LIFE is the greatest gift
Whether one is pauper or queen

Won’t you share with me this moment
As the week goes rushing by
To stop in awe-struck gratitude
For the gift of you and I.

Metta,
Blythe Ayne

My Heart

Grand Canyon-US dept of the Interior

My Heart is as wide
As the Grand Canyon
When I say “I Love”
I’ve only begun

As Love is a Force
Beyond all others
Where strangers become
Sisters and Brothers

My Heart is as deep
As the Grand Canyon
Plunged into love
Like deep rivers run

For Love is a Spirit
An eternal Power
In morning’s sunrise
Love’s colors flower

My Heart is as cratered
As the Grand Canyon
Here is a chamber
For everyone

Come my friend
Into my Heart’s Grand Canyon
You’ll be loved forever
My dear companion.

Itty-Bitty Kitty Teaches: How to Fly

Flying kitten- shared by Marie Gabriel

If you really want to fly
It’s very easy to do
You think about a birdy
And remember how she flew

Then go to an open field
With your favorite kind of flower
And breathe in their sweet smell
Packed with Life Force power

Next you start to run
Bursting with joy and glee
And soon you’ll start to fly
Just like you see me

Maybe you don’t fathom
The point to learning to fly
But it’s something truly wonderful
And here’s the reason why

When you can clearly picture
Yourself leaving the ground
You’ll believe in all your powers
The lesson is quite profound

But even more exciting
In my flying lessons for you
Is that you can “leave the ground”
In anything you do

You are so amazing
You have power to change the world
Only believe in yourself while imagining
Your wonderful wings unfurled!

An Angel’s Visit

Angel Unawares-6-6-14What if an Angel appeared
Upon your path today
In the midst of your work and your hurry
What would you have to say?

Imagine with me if you will
What this might be like
To see with ordinary vision
An Angel glowing in lightning strike

Would you desire to converse
With this Being from Heaven’s realm
Or would you be stricken silent
By glory overwhelmed?

Trust me my Beloved Friend
In your every breath Angels abide
They lean over you with Love and Care
They are always at your side

There is never a grief nor a trouble
But that Angels are supporting you
If you believe in your Angels
Their presence will come through

You have nothing to lose to call, ”Angels!”
Whenever life’s woes get you down
Your Angels are meant to attend you
As in spirit you wear a crown

How amazing is your own Light
That to an Angel shines like a star
Your Angels are close by you
For them there’s no such thing as far

So be comforted my Friend to know
If you can’t see their realm so near
You are cherished by your Angels
In your Heart may you hold them dear.

The Patterns of Life – from House of Tree

Rain drops on leaf

When rain falls
Upon the leaf
Each drop enlarges
In strong relief

The patterns of life
That are etched there
The love, the pain
The joy, the care

Do not avoid the storm
And the rain
But study, instead
The path of each vein

To treasure the beauty
In each drop of rain
That flowers in wisdom
From each moment of pain

To see where you’re going
From where you’ve been
You can make paths
That are joyous again.

A Prayer of Love for Animals

Now is the perfect moment
To love all the creatures dear
As we never know how much longer
They will be with us here

All of our animal friends
Give our lives sweet meaning
Whether chasing a ball in the yard
Or their lovely feathers preening

Whether far, far away
In some exotic, distant land
Or right in your back yard
Under your loving hand

I thank you darling Nature
For all the gifts you’ve bestowed
For the stunning array of creatures
From jungle heat to arctic cold

For all the moments of joy
My own little friends provide
When the evening shades fall
Sitting right here by my side.

The Moons

The moons will lead me to you
As I sail across the seas
Adrift, yet filled with wonder
Led by evocative sea breeze

What ocean came between us
As we sailed on waters clear
What darkness cleft our journey
When we held each other dear?

Oh moons, splendid moons
Aligned near and far in the sky
I pray you, guide my ship
To unite my Love and I

Oh gorgeous tempest ocean
Oh tall ship on fiery seas
Oh dual moons soaring above
Eternal God-wrought frieze

You may think I’m but a tiny creature
Small and powerless in your net
But I have vast Power with Love
And my Dream will triumph yet

As I bring together Forces
That first set the worlds in motion
I will reach my destination
Love’s shore across the ocean.

House of Tree

Come into the forest
Take a walk with me
I’d like you to be my guest
At my little House of Tree

You and I will have
The most enchanting time
When you visit my darling home
Made of rock and wood and rhyme

I will serve you my phenomenal
Leaf and magic pie
All ingredients of the forest
From elf-moss earth to fairy sky

I mix it all together
With incantations of peace and love
While the dryads add their healing
From roots below and twigs above

You will never want to leave
My charming House of Tree
You will find it beyond delightful
To enjoy leaf pie and drink moss tea

And I? I will be so happy
If your dreams in my forest come true
Because my fondest wish is always
That LOVE surrounds all you be and do

So, look up into the sky
Wherever you may be
And wish with all your heart
To visit my House of Tree

In a twinkling you’ll be here
Before you can blink your eyes
I’m now gathering the ingredients
For Autumn magic leaf pies.

Kitty Luau

I’m having a summer party
‘Cause I can’t let summer go
It’s a kitty luau
For cool cats in the know

You’re invited to my luau
Please wear flowers and shades
Bring your joie de vivre
And come just as evening fades

We’ll dance and eat and party
We’ll sing and caterwaul
In short, we’ll have a blast
At our endless summer ball

Cool cats, and doggies too
Are welcome at my home
Paying homage to summer
Under the sky’s starry dome.
